welcome to my blog
This blog is about a woman's perspective on car ownership, specifically the ownership of a 2002 Volvo XC70 wagon that I love the exterior color and it photographs very nicely for the blog, which is nice since I plan to post many pictures of this awesome ride. I had to get the wagon for the kids; my 9 year old Saint Bernard, and 7 month old Boston Terrier.

Snow in April, not on the valley floor but very close to where we live. We’re very lucky to live only 30 minutes from Marys Peak, http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/siuslaw/recreation/tripplanning/maryspeak/index.shtml which is the highest point in the Oregon Coast Range. It’s great to have a car that the Saint Bernard can fit comfortably in, and then take her to the snow to romp around. You’d never guess she was going to be 9 years this summer. Here’s some pictures we took, it was slightly chilly, but definitely worth getting a little cold to be outside in the snow. After being out in the refreshing cool air, taking some pictures and letting the dog run around, we were happy to get back into the warm comfy volvo to head back home.

Before we left town we first went to Squirrels for lunch, a cool tavern in downtown Corvallis, http://nowtowns.com/businesses/?id=6320&fi=Squirrels+Tavern&fd. I wish I had taken some pictures of our yummy food, I’ll need to do that next time and post them on the blog. I just went with the simple grilled cheese sandwich, perfect for a rainy day in Oregon.

After lunch headed north on Highway 99W to Van Duzer Winery, http:/www.vanduzer.com/ , excellent winery, beautiful place to visit in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and only a 45 minute drive from where we live. My favorite taste was their sparkling wine, bubbly, crisp and very dry. It’s a nice sparkling wine to buy for a special occasion and you can only get it at the winery. To get to the winery you turn off 99W and head for three miles on a gravel road, perfect to see how the Volvo feels on gravel, drove great and the scenery is beautiful. My husband and I ended up buying a bottle of the Van Duzer Vintner’s Cuvée Pinot Noir, a very affordable full-bodied wine. Here’s a picture of the volvo at Van Duzer.

Great day, love my new used car.  The experience with my credit union went smooth (what a relief); sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. After the bank stopped in at the auto insurance agents office, was in the office less than 20 minutes and now the car is fully insured, then back to work.  Bummer, but I guess I had better get back to work I still need to pay for the car somehow.

After work my husband and I drove to one of the many places we have available to walk the dogs, Oak Creek Park, a nice wooded area that is not developed, it’s just a 15 minute drive from our house, one of many reasons why we love the Oregon Willamette Valley.    Here’s a picture of Winston (the boston terrier) and myself enjoying the roomy back area of the Volvo.  Again, it is a wonderful car to drive, can’t wait to take it on a long road trip.

This blog is about a women’s perspective on car ownership, specifically the ownership of a 2002 Volvo XC70 wagon that I just recently purchased. The exterior color is light blue with dark blue accent and tan leather interior. I love the exterior color and it photographs very nicely for the blog, which is nice since I plan to post many pictures of this awesome ride. I had to get the wagon for the kids; my 9 year old Saint Bernard, and 7 month old Boston Terrier. I also can’t wait to go golfing with my girlfriends. It’ll fit at least 4 friends and all of the clubs in the back, what a great car.

So far, as you may be able to tell I love the car. It drives wonderfully smooth; the front heated seats feel very nice on your backside. Haven’t had a chance to try the back seats yet, they have built in booster seats so I’ll be interested to try them out at some point and see if they are as comfy as the front seats. A nice built in feature for a family. They also have the jump seat in the very back, so potentially the car should be able to fit 5 adults and 2 kids in the back.

Anyways here is the first day of hopefully a very happy ownership. Thanks for reading.
